Anthropic is cutting Claude Code's current weekly limits by 17%

Anthropic is permanently increasing Claude Code's standard weekly usage limits by 25% for Pro, Max, Team, and seat-based Enterprise plans, but it's not as good as it sounds. [...]

zeroday.news ·

Anthropic has announced a permanent adjustment to the weekly usage limits for its Claude Code service, which will result in a 17% reduction compared to current temporary allowances. While the company frames the change as a 25% increase over previous standard limits, users currently benefiting from a temporary boost will experience a decrease in their available usage.

The change is scheduled to take effect on September 14. Until then, a temporary 50% increase in weekly limits for Claude Code will remain active. Following this date, the new permanent limits will be implemented for Pro, Max, Team, and seat-based Enterprise plans.

To illustrate the impact, if the original standard weekly allowance for Claude Code was 100 units, the temporary promotion currently provides 150 units. As of September 14, this will decrease to 125 units. This represents a 25% increase over the original standard allowance but a 17% reduction from the temporary 150-unit limit.

Anthropic initially posted about the change on X (formerly Twitter), describing it as a permanent 25% increase to standard weekly limits. However, the company later deleted the original thread and issued a clarification, explicitly acknowledging the reduction.

In its revised statement, Anthropic confirmed, "Compared to today, this works out to a 17% reduction in weekly limits on Claude Code." The company also indicated that further changes are in development, stating, "We're working on exciting changes that will make it feel like you're getting more from Claude, while having more visibility and control of your usage. Can't wait to share them."

Anthropic notes that Claude usage is not a fixed number of prompts and can fluctuate based on several factors. These include the length of conversations, the specific model chosen, the use of various tools, and the overall effort level required for tasks.

Hack One Robot, Reach the Next: Unitree G1 Security Flaws

A security researcher has discovered a chain of two vulnerabilities in the Unitree G1 humanoid robot that allows for remote, unauthenticated root access. The flaws can be exploited through a combination of Bluetooth, Unitree's cloud infrastructure, and the mobile app, enabling an attacker to compromise a robot and then use it to attack other nearby robots. Unitree has since patched the cloud vulnerability and issued bounties for the discovered flaws.
