Tony Giandomenico, Senior Director of Product Management, joins Amy to discuss the Talos Threat Hunting launch what he's excited about for the future of cybersecurity, and, of course, his Ironman triathlons.

Tony Giandomenico, Senior Director of Product Management at Cisco Talos, has observed a significant acceleration in the capabilities of advanced AI models, which he believes will fundamentally alter the cybersecurity landscape. This rapid evolution, he notes, is prompting a reevaluation of how both defenders and adversaries will leverage these technologies.
Giandomenico, who has over 30 years of experience in the cybersecurity field, sees these frontier AI models as a double-edged sword. While adversaries will undoubtedly use them to enhance their existing tactics, such as network intrusion, lateral movement, and evasion of security controls, defenders will also employ similar AI technologies to bolster their own capabilities and speed up threat detection and response.
This accelerated pace of technological advancement means that product management teams will likely see innovations that were previously anticipated to be years away arrive much sooner. This prospect excites Giandomenico, as it expands the "art of the possible" in developing new security solutions.
He recently played a key role in the launch of Cisco Talos Threat Hunting, a service designed to identify threats that bypass existing security alerts and detection mechanisms. Giandomenico explained that traditional security tools often struggle with a "sensitivity meter" that must be balanced to avoid overwhelming security teams with false positives while still catching sophisticated threats.
Threat hunting, he elaborated, utilizes a combination of AI and human expertise to build hypotheses and uncover actors who may have already circumvented security controls. Initially focused on endpoint telemetry, the service is now expanding to include Cisco's firewall products, Secure Firewall, and identity solutions like Duo and Cisco Identity Intelligence.
When asked about maintaining focus during intense product launches, Giandomenico drew upon his experience running a cybersecurity consulting firm in Hawaii. He learned that beyond technical expertise, understanding financial aspects, sales, marketing, and crucially, human psychology, is essential for influencing individuals across different departments with competing priorities.
His key takeaway from transitioning from running his own business to a larger organization is the importance of aligning diverse teams around a shared vision. By approaching challenges with the understanding that plans may not unfold exactly as envisioned and by focusing on influencing stakeholders to believe in the product's vision, successful outcomes are more achievable.

JetBrains is urging Cadence users to revoke and rotate all credentials following a security incident last month in which unidentified threat actors exploited a recently disclosed critical vulnerability in TeamCity to breach its own environment. "Cadence users should immediately revoke or rotate all credentials and secrets that may have been used to run their Cadence executions," JetBrains said.

Broadcom has released security updates for two security flaws impacting VMware Workstation and Fusion, including one critical bug that could result in arbitrary code execution under certain conditions. The vulnerability, tracked as CVE-2026-59346 (CVSS score: 9.3), is an integer-overflow vulnerability that a local attacker with elevated privileges can exploit to run arbitrary code. "A
